Stress Bruises ? (why does this question needs to be at least 20 characters long)?

Yeah, so I was breaking apart this chair yesterday with a sledge hammer, and today I have this big purple and reddish splotchy bruise on the back of my left shoulder. Can you get bruises from, I guess overworking muscles you don't normally use?
