How do I break a ratchet?

I have a really old snap-on 1/2" ratchet that I found. I know with their lifetime guarantee, they would give me a brand new one if it was broken. But that's the problem. It isn't broken. If I beat the crap out of it with a sledge hammer, would that void the warranty? lol. Any ways you can think of break it without looking like I broke it? I was thinking maybe chucking the tip into a drill press and holding the handle and spinning it until it couldnt handle it anymore. Ideas please!
